Who is this course for?

The First Person On Scene (FPOS) is a nationally recognised Btec L4 qualification suitable for people wishing to become medical first responders.

 

How long is the course?

The course is delivered over 5 concecutive days with a mixture of classroom sessions and practical skills that you will develop in our Immersive Learning Suite in realistic scenarios that will engage and challenge you.

 

Helping you develop

During your training course we will generate a video portfolio of your practical scenarios so you can watch your own responses and actions and use this reflection to enhance your future practice.

 

Pre-course preperation

When you book your place we will send you a Pearson Edexcell FPOSI textbook for you to do some pre-course reading, this book will give you all the factual information you need to prepare for the course it also has a link for 3 years access to a digital version of the book via Pearsonactivelearn.com

  • CPR including defibrillatiors

  • Dealing with trauma emergencies
  • Dealing with medical emegencies
  • Obtaining and recording basic observations
  • Completing patient report forms
  • Assisting other clinical grades
